Cyprian Smits studied econometrics at the University of Amsterdam. Before joining Rabobank as Area Lead Data Science, he was working for the Dutch Tax Administration as Chief Analytics Officer.

He has over 15 years of experience in applied analytics, bringing analytics solutions to live in large scale processes. He has experience in all technologies being used to unlock data out of systems, and has developed several types of models to bring data to value and deploy them into production. He has a special interest in the relation between ethics and AI (responsible AI). In the last few years, his focus was mainly on the development of advanced analytical methods for improving customer due diligence and monitoring of client behaviour. He has managed fast growing teams of specialised advanced analytics professionals, creating a culture where top analytical talents want to work.

Cyprian is focused on innovation with data in large companies. His innovative way of thinking, focus on creating high performance culture and in-depth understanding of what analytical techniques can do, led to many successful results creating value for Rabobank.
